About the Role

This is an exciting time for Resource Management as we build on the professionalism of our people and work closely with the business to develop and implement PwC business and people strategy.

PwC's Resource Management (RM) team has been centralised to assist the firm in being more agile and providing the right people on the right projects at the right time.

Reporting directly to the Senior Resource Manager, with an Officer reporting into you,you will have responsibility for the strategic deployment of our Risk Assurance BRC (Business Risk and Controls) professionals across the newly formed Regions BRC team.

This team is mainly based in Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester, but also has people in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol and Cardiff.

You will work closely with the Business Leadership, Group Leaders and RM function to provide insight and help influence positive behaviours in line with the Firms expectations & Risk Assurance Strategy.

This role is being offered as a 12 month fixed term contract and can be based in either Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester with some travel to other offices across the region.

  • Responsibilities of the role;
  • Lead, manage and promote the resourcing model across a number of different teams and locations.

    Day to day deployment of staff to projects / assignments, managing resourcing conflicts and priorities and balancing the needs of the business with the needs of individuals.

    Understand the implication of profitability, engagement, agility and retention goals and the impact on resourcing decisions

    Support the Leadership team in providing direction around strategic resourcing priorities which include people, recruiting, training, mobility, agility, ways of working, workload balance.

    A trusted advisor to the business and known as the subject matter expert (SME) around resource management.

    Provide accurate and commercially focused management information (MI) to identify trends and key risks.

    Support the business effectively to deliver on their chargeable hours and revenue target

    Engage and promote the use of key resourcing systems and work closely with the wider Resource Management community to implement new technologies and best practice.

    Ensure staff and managers are deployed on jobs based on skills, capacity and aspirations.

    Maintain open, honest and ongoing relationships with staff and client group through effective engagement and client management.

    Work with key stakeholders to enhance and implement ways of working.

    Line Management and development of the officer.

    Provide proactive advice, input on conflict resolution, day-to-day resourcing requests, specials and / or other unanticipated assignments.

    Improving agility by utilising people in our growth / strategic priority areas both within your immediate area and across the firm as a whole

  • The following skills are required;
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels, often on a remote basis is integral to the role.

    Change management and an ability to challenge ways of working and drive through changes with senior stakeholders

    Ability to leverage the support of the wider Resource Management and Operations teams.

    Confident in communication both written and verbal.

    Knowledge of headcount management, including coordinating between temps and contractors, HC / Workday and recruitment.

    Motivated & self starter, able to work autonomously and in a somewhat ambiguous environment.
