We are currently looking for a (Total Productive Maintenance) to join our Health Care Division based at Loughborough, Leicestershire.

    3M in Loughborough manufactures and packages pharmaceutical and medical products in various forms.

    This role will provide Leadership to ensure Safe, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliant equipment, facilities and utilities for the Liquids, Creams, Solid Dose and Inhalation production areas.

    Successful applicants will excel at providing flexible valued engineering Leadership and support that is a vital contribution to the business success.

    This Position is a Leadership role and will require the successful candidate to supervise a team of maintenance technicians.

    Key Job Responsibilities -

  • Develop and drive all TPM activities within designated areas of responsibility
  • Will lead and develop a strong team of Manufacturing and Packaging Maintenance Engineers, and provide them with Technical Leadership
  • Must ensure that planned, predictive reactive and autonomous maintenance is completed on complex electro-mechanical systems and process equipment, which includes Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and pneumatic controls.
  • Ensure that equipment and assets are maintained in a safe, compliant and reliable manner.
  • Provide hands on Engineering support and be the next level of escalation when equipment issues arise within the value streams.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions for equipment issues.
  • Complete and maintain GMP documentation in line with Current Good Manufacturing Practice
  • Develop standard work procedures for maintenance and asset care activities.
  • Work as part of an Engineering and Production leadership team to ensure lines are safe, compliant and productive.
  • Will have a working knowledge of, Equipment Criticality Assessment Studies, and be able to lead and facilitate FMEA activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement of equipment and associated processes.
  • Improve and maintain equipment OEE, specifically equipment performance must also drive equipment productivity improvements.
  • Be willing and able to coach others and develop understanding of others in equipment use and issues.
  • Knowledge and Skills

    The ideal applicant will be an experienced multi-skilled (Electrical and / or Mechanical) Maintenance engineer who can demonstrate.

    an understanding of electrical and PLC control systems.

    You will have strong leadership experience or can clearly demonstrate their ability to develop and lead a maintenance team.

    You will be able to diagnose and repair failures of process plant. You will be familiar with preventative maintenance programs and current regulatory requirements regarding Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and engineering legislation.


  • BTEC ONC or C&G Technician or equivalent
  • Apprentice trained (with applicable vocational qualifications)
  • Appropriate engineering qualification (ideally HNC / HND / NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
  • Multi Skilling Preferred
