We are looking for
the role holder to lead a new enterprise architecture team at Maritech. Reporting into the Head of Platforms and Architecture, this role will be the most senior architect in the business with the key aims of establishing and developing the key future enterprise architecture blueprint for the Maritech Sea suite of applications.
You will be responsible for the overall architecture of all technology solutions at Maritech and you will design, own and manage the technology governance processes working closely with other architects at technical and solution level within teams in doing so.
The initial key focus for the role will be that of integration and API standardisation and best practice across application and 3rd party services we consume, so strong integration and API experience is a must.
You will also initiate and deliver technology evaluations and POCs working with teams, providing recommendations while driving the simplification, removal of tech debt, centralisation / re use of services / solutions, standardisation, removal of silo-based solutions in the applications as part of the overall architectural strategy blueprint for the future state of the platform / ecosystem to support solid foundations for the next phase of growth.
Within the role you will ensure we have best practices for system design and provide technical leadership and provide support for the teams.
The role will require the building of effective relationships with our technical partners such as Microsoft in order that Maritech has its finger on the pulse with regards to the latest enterprise technology and trends.
You will provide a consultancy service to development teams to aid them in solving problems through technology and ensuring the Sea suite is assessing and making use of the best technology in order to drive competitive edge and overall innovation to the market.
Working with the development, Product, Platform Engineering, Sales and Senior Leadership team to define an agreed architectural blueprint and strategy for the future of the Sea ecosystem in the next phase of digital transformation.
Focussing on an increased interoperability within software products with a particular focus on cloud.
Assessing the current architecture for risks and lack of best practice and using the output of this assessment work with the teams to design and deliver an architectural framework / blueprint to address current issues as well as deliver the future state architecture to support and deliver against key business goals.
Initially focussing on integration and API best practise across the sea suite.
Working closely on the architectural blueprint / strategy with all architects across the development teams to deliver this.
Leading the architectural governance process through best practise and standards.
Building and maintaining relationships with external technical partners to build awareness of roadmaps and technology advancements in the industry (I.
e. Azure, Microsoft), to then feed these into the Maritech Sea suite roadmap through POCs to support providing competitive edge and innovation for the platform.

o Design, build and test phases
Stakeholder management and requirements analysis.
Participating in the Design Authority, including contributing to the shaping of process and governance for the organisation.
Developing and maintaining Maritech technology reference architectures and policies as well as architecture roadmaps.
Developing and maintaining technology architecture cost and ROI models to assess architecture change and contribute to the creation of business cases for technology investment where required.
Skills and Experience
A solid and successful technology background and passion for technology, with appropriate architectural qualifications, you will be able to demonstrate experience of enterprise architecture in a fast paced, modern, organisation harnessing enterprise cloud technologies (IaaS / PaaS / SaaS experience).
Strong experience of enterprise database design and database solutions (SQL, CosmosDB etc).
Experience of working in IT at a senior level.
Experience of working in complex environments / systems.
Extensive experience in leading business and IT change from Architectural perspective.
Strong experience of working at an enterprise cloud architecture level (ideally Azure).
Experience of previously delivering architectural strategy / blueprints in a similar cloud / SaaS based environment with high transactional real time applications.
You will be able to draw from a range of architectural frameworks (One being TOGAF), and methodologies and not adopt a one size fits all templated approach.
You will pragmatically be able to harness these framework-based approaches to drive a shared architectural vision / strategy.
Strong Microsoft stack experience, Microservices and multi cloud architecture.
Experience with working with board level stakeholders (i.e. CTO) to set the strategy and design for products.
As a natural communicator and influencer, you will build effective and trustful relationships at all levels while communicating complex technical information in a way that technical and non-technical people will understand.
Strong experience in developing and leading an architectural team.
Ability to understand business issues and challenges and translate to technical solutions.
Experience in setting technical direction through architecture and delivering this across multi delivery teams for adoption across the organisation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
