We have a requirement for a Client Account Manager for the Water Sector in the north of England. The key attributes required for this post are :

  • Based in the North West (likely base Manchester)
  • Have experience in the regulated water sector
  • Asset management experience at a senior level
  • Existing relationships with key clients (United Utilities, Yorkshire, Severn Trent, Northumbrian)
  • Reporting to the Group Director of Asset Management Advisory, the experienced Consultant will demonstrate competence in areas including Asset Strategy, Integrity, Operational Excellence, Reliability, Maintenance, Turnarounds and Operational Readiness Assurance.

    The roles provide opportunities to tailor bespoke services to suit a diverse set of clients, working in a sell-do’ business model and to be a key member of the Practice.

    Consultants at Technical Director (TD) level will work very closely with the AMA Group Director to set strategy, direction and market positioning of our Asset Management.

    In addition, TD-level Consultants will be responsible for the development and management of key client relationships, for positioning for and directing the preparation of Asset Management Consultancy proposals, and be responsible for leading and delivering packages of work for our clients working as an experienced practitioner.

    In addition, TD-level Consultants will assist in directing and developing the Asset Management team, building our brand and profile in the market and ensuring Asset Management best practice is developed and maintained.

    Primary Job Responsibilities :

  • Provide consulting services to clients during all phases of an engagement, including benchmarking, gap analysis, solution identification, justification, prioritisation, ranking, implementation and close out;
  • Support and lead marketing and business development activities and sell consulting engagement as an experienced practitioner;
  • Provide direction and leadership to winning proposals by identifying client requirements, win themes, technical options, structuring the commercial offer, meeting with clients, and participating in presentations and discussions, ensuring appropriate governance is applied to all proposals
  • Lead, manage and implement solutions and performance improvements within client organisations whilst controlling quality, cost and client satisfaction;
  • Lead and mentor the Asset Management team, providing guidance, support and direction to create a high performing culture built on technical excellence and strong project delivery
  • Act as and be recognised as a Subject Matter Expert’ in Asset Management activities across Asset Management Advisory and the wider Jacobs;
  • Prepare and deliver conference papers for delivery at international events;
  • Participate in Jacobs’ cross-sector Asset Management Community of Practice’;
  • Identify new opportunities and leads;
  • Support growth of the business.
  • Essential :

  • Significant Asset Management experience within the Regulated Water sector
  • Candidates must demonstrate competency and experience in the following :
  • Able to work within a sell-do’ model;
  • Strong self-starter and motivated to succeed;
  • Practical consulting experience including scoping, selling and delivery;
  • Asset management strategies, practices and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to produce concise reports and presentations for all levels;
  • Confidence to work at all levels of a client organisation (Board to Technician);
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
  • Desire to expand role and be adaptable to client’s needs;
  • Leads the preparation of proposals, execution plans and budgets;
  • Supports a continuous improvement culture and identifies gaps, develops work processes, tools and methodologies to drive productivity and growth.
