We are seeking an IT Project Manager to deliver complex solutions across a variety of different functions in our UK and Ireland business.

Working with other Project Managers and reporting into our Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for end to end delivery of varying projects, usually several at a time, across the business.

We have a flexible approach here at BAM on methodology and approach to delivery; you will need to be a self-starter and ready to engage and break down barriers with stakeholders throughout the business, assessing and influencing recommendations on how best a project should proceed.

Your mission

Your key activities will include :

  • Collaborate with business sponsors and technology subject matter experts, to define scope and delivery strategy for solutions.
  • Perform project planning and scheduling, manage tasks and coordinate project resources to meet objectives and timelines.
  • Anticipate change and identify ways to overcome challenges and constraints to keep project activities on schedule to meet or exceed business partner / sponsor / stakeholder expectations.
  • Provide clear, concise communications to project and business stakeholder groups at all levels of the business.
  • Deliver projects in compliance with BAM’s Project Management Methodology and Controls displaying experience of handling large project budgets, with accountability for forecasting and spend across multiple project requirements.
  • Support the Portfolio Management Officer with quarterly planning, project financials accuracy.
  • Continual contribution into the further improvement of Strategic IT Delivery as a function.
  • Who are we looking for?

    Your qualifications, skills and experience should include :

  • Degree-educated with project management qualification(s) advantageous (PRINCE2 (foundation) / PMP / IPMA-D or other relevant PM Certification;
  • CSM Scrum Master / PMI-ACP / SAFe Agillist or other relevant Agile Certification.

  • Experience working in a project-driven organisation, working on large-scale change projects / programmes within global organisations.
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, risk management and change control.

  • Experience of supporting on small to medium complex IT projects / programmes with multiple stakeholders with different needs.
  • Solid experience of project financial control and reporting.
  • Knowledge of and solid experience in project methodologies, such as Prince2 & Agile, other demonstrable experience would be advantageous such as Scrum, Kanban etc.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and administrative skills.
  • Proactive and innovative, with the ability to remain pragmatic while ensuring controls are adhered to.
  • Attentive to details and accurate, with excellent organisational skills and a process efficiency mind-set.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative mindset, highly motivated and personable.
  • Ability to deal with a varied working environment with experience of prioritising work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, stakeholder management and relationship management skills.
  • Experience of successfully working in a matrix environment with people who have very diverse working styles, working practices and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction to resolve most issues independently.

    Your work environment

    Based out of our Head Office in Camberley, the role will also involve home-working, with visits to BAM UK & Ireland offices as necessary.
