Band 5, Staff nurse, I nterventional Radiology and Imaging , (Cross site)

Fast forward your career by joining our imaging team as a staff nurse. Our department is full of opportunity for nurses who are starting out in imaging, as well as those who are looking for progression to develop new skills, get involved in quality improvement projects, research, and collaborate with leading teams.

You will be caring for patients undergoing a wide range of interventional procedures within the neuroradiology and general interventional specialties.

These procedures include treatment of aneurysms, ischemic stroke, arterial-venous malformations, biliary duct obstruction, internal arterial bleeding, and different varieties of tumours.

Our treatments vary from inserting drainages to stents, and complicated embolisation treatments and latest technology as Trans-arterial Chemo-embolisation and radiofrequency ablations.

We offer an 18 month rotational program between St Mary’s Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital. Each site offers expertise in different specialities, with different skills levels, which we will support you to achieve competencies within the 18months.

Our focus is to provide you with a holistic orientation to complete your skills and knowledge within the interventional radiology areas.

We will facilitate for you to attend other services such as recovery area, stroke unit and intensive care settings, to further developed your skills to enable you to fulfil your job role.

Your development is our priority and we can offer the support you needs to deliver quality patient care as well as learning new skills with regard to our state-of-the-art technology and equipment.

We will also support you as you continue to gain experience, with further development via in-house service training at the following hospitals :

Charing Cross Hospital neurological, stroke, thrombectomy and oncology

St Mary’s Hospital vascular and trauma

Hammersmith Hospital renal, haematology and hepatobilary

You will also receive further support from our clinical educator and clinical nurse specialists, as well as the senior team, in a friendly team environment, and be able to broaden your nursing experience by working within a multi-disciplinary team.
