Collaborating with the mould machine maintenance engineer, you will take ownership of all aspects related to machine and ancillary preventative maintenance (PM) within the moulding department.

Tasks include coordinating and performing PM activities, liaising with production planning, status updates provided to engineering and production teams.

Working in conjunction with the other moulding technicians & engineers, to provide feedback on equipment condition to aid continuous improvements to existing moulding & ancillary equipment and PM processes to improve efficiencies and productivity.

You will have responsibility of completing and supervising PM activities on a 3 monthly to 2 yearly frequency across all moulding equipment ensuring that tasks are completed safely, to a high quality and within the allotted time frame.

Implement improvements to existing PM processes to work productively and with efficiency, liaise with department representatives to ensure that PM is successfully initiated and completed within the time frame.

Report information to the mould maintenance engineer that is potentially advantageous to provide cost reductions and efficiency improvements.

Ensure that any statutory legislation / obligations are adhered to with regard to PM, especially those associated with health & safety requirements and environmental needs.

To handle and ensure accurate data entry of SAP in relation to PM.

Liaise with the engineering stores to ensure timely and efficient management of spare parts.

Plant shutdown planning of resources, materials and workload.

Liaise with outside vendors to procure parts and equipment.

Work as an additional resource to the Technical teams during scheduled planned maintenance periods.

Work outside of normal working hours as & when required to support PM.

Carry out any other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by respective leader.


  • Held a technical role within a production environment.
  • Experience in a related plant maintenance environment, ideally maintenance activities related to Injection Moulding Machines within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Have knowledge of maintenance systems and procedures, ideally SAP R / 3.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.

  • Minimum of ONC in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or a proven capability within BD.
  • O’ Level in Mathematics or equivalent.
