Job SummaryTo ensure the quality provision of funeral services whilst taking personal responsibility for excellent internal and external customer service, operating standards and protection of income underpinned by our DOES values. Key Responsibilities
After completion of required training undertake manual handling duties.
Carry out funeral bearing duties (including shouldering) in line with funeral group policies. Full training will be given.
Ensure a smart well turned out appearance at all times.
Ensure Ceremonial vehicles are washed and valeted to the required standard, and that relevant floral tributes are present and that coffin is secure.
Drive funeral group vehicles to the standards required, maintain the cleanliness both externally and internally of the funeral vehicles and re-fuel in line with operational policies.
Ensure vehicles are driven at appropriate speeds for the occasion and that any following cortege are able to stay together.
Route planning and timings, when appropriate.
Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy funeral home.
Support the branch in the achievement of the targets for community hours and charity fundraising and actively promote the business and membership within the local community.
Understand and comply with operating processes set out in the Way of Working manual.
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.
Carry out any other reasonable request by their line manager.
In addition, all colleagues are expected to work within the terms of their contract of employment and adhere to Society policies and procedures.
Post holders may be required to provide temporary cover at other funeral homes and work outside of standard office hours.
Post holders must display a smart and professional image and attitude at all times. Uniforms provided must be worn.
Occasional situations may also arise that require the post holder to perform other duties or tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Society.

Ensure correct Health and Safety process is followed every time. Finance
Post holders should have good levels of literacy and numeracy. Must exhibit strong attention to detail ensuring first class customer service.

Full UK Driving Licence essential.
