We are looking for an experienced Senior Highway Traffic Engineer with Public Sector and Consultancy experience designing and managing urban infrastructure and local traffic schemes, to be based in our office in Birmingham, with a remit for working within the wider Midlands area.

The successful candidate focus on the technical management and delivery of a wide range of varied projects to the highest quality, on programme and within budget.
Projects range from small local transport schemes to large urban roads, and include junction improvements, route treatments, estate / development infrastructure design and large highway projects.
We are looking for a team member who has a strong track record in designing to client quality objectives, is experienced in leading the delivery of multidisciplinary projects at a design manager / coordinator level and is comfortable dealing directly with existing and new Clients at a senior level.
The correct candidate will be experienced in delivering projects using technical staff from both the local team and the regional organisation, and will also be expected to provide team management support and client liaison and development.
Qualifications and Experience :
Degree and Chartered or equivalent, with at least 10 years relevant industry experience.
Duties and Responsibilities :
You will provide leadership to junior staff and technical support on assigned projects ensuring successful delivery of technically challenging Public Realm, Transport, Traffic and Infrastructure schemes.
You will work in collaboration with other disciplines and will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of schemes, overseas projects, research projects and innovative, technically challenging work.
Must be a developing leader, experienced in leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams and providing an environment where others can succeed,
Must be experienced in managing complex projects, using resources from both local and regional teams,
Will have strong experience in geometric design, urban road design, roundabout design, junction design, car park design and development infrastructure design,
Should have a good foundation on DMRB, Manual for Streets and local design guidance,
Should have strong commercial awareness and be skilled in dealing with demanding Clients with high expectations.
Additional skills that would be beneficial,
Experience in working with multidisciplinary and international teams,
Highway design specialisms, such as drainage and traffic signals,
