Your opportunity to work for a stunning wedding and events venue in the beautiful Ribble Valley.

They are looking to recruit a Head Event Chef. Due to the focus of the business on weddings and events, they are seeking someone with a keen interest and previous experience of large scale, high quality event catering.

This is a full-time role and working hours will be based on a rota system, and with the nature of this role, it will include predominantly evenings and weekend shift patterns.

They have a single kitchen team who work from two kitchens one purpose-built kitchen for event catering and one new build kitchen which is open plan into their branded restaurant.

About you

  • Several years on the job training to Sous / Head Chef level
  • Previous experience and interest in event catering
  • Health and safety and food hygiene certificates
  • Ability to multi-task while remaining focused
  • Ability to express creativity through food selections, preparation and presentation
  • Detail orientated
  • Ability to remain calm in high stress situations
  • Able to solve problems quickly under pressure
  • Adequate upper body strength for heavy lifting and strong back and leg muscles for hours of standing, bending and walking around
  • Menu design experience
  • Ability to forecast, plan, source and order correct amount of inventory
  • Experience and ability to adhere to budgets and meet financial targets
  • Experience of following food and safety regulations
  • Staff management skills and experience
  • Good communication and written skills
  • Excellent leadership and delegation skills
  • Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
  • Customer service skills
  • Good level of IT proficiency
  • Salary and benefits

  • Starting salary of between £28,000 to £30,000 per year
