Job description

Cordius are recruiting for a large international law firm. This position is an amazing opportunity to work with a top 50 law firm and gain access to work with industry-leading professionals.

Previous technical experience in :

  • iManage (Cloud, Work 10, Insight) and other legal information systems
  • Performance and capacity management tools
  • Microsoft technology stack (M365)
  • Solid understanding of Enterprise infrastructure - public / private cloud, Data Centre, authentication services, Storage & Virtualisation, Hypervisor design, backups, SQL, cybersecurity, VDI.
  • Experience implementing legal Innovation technology
  • Experience in preparing and presenting solution blueprints
  • Previous experience in a professional services firm / partnership structure
  • Experience in supplier management, with vendors and resellers
  • Purpose :

  • Lead the technical design and development of the Firm's legal information systems (LIS).
  • Oversee the technical aspects of design and delivery of IT systems underpinning the innovation project portfolio, providing technical direction and support to the project team as required.
  • Grow awareness and understanding of related systems and global technical architecture, including integrations between systems.
  • Own the definition, design and delivery phases of solutions to address business requirements, ensuring optimal integration of future enterprise environment.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to define technologies acceptance and adoption criteria, ensuring alignment with IT strategy.
  • Translate business needs into system solutions ensuring long term supportability of the architecture.
  • Evaluate possible solutions and designs to establish best approach in terms of user outcome, architecture and cost.
  • Develop systems in line with ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus requirements.
  • Contribute to the roadmap for continuous improvement, innovation, evolution, and suitable replacement when / where necessary, of the systems.
  • Define and own architectural best practices design for solutions required for both extensions to existing products and new disruptive innovations alike.
  • Standardise and globalise systems taking into account both global and regional needs.
  • Define, design and deliver solutions that meet the current and future needs of the Firm given the growth, agility, availability and performance that the Firm requires.
  • Contribute to the budgeting and accounting processes to maintain and evolve the systems in a responsible and innovative way
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the components that make up the systems, their purpose and their capacity and performance levels to provide a solid basis for high performing systems.
  • Maintain the catalogue and configuration management process for the systems.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural, security and scalability best practices.
  • Contribute to operational handover, service introduction documentation and training material, in conjunction with the IT Training team
  • Attributes / Skills Required :

  • Ability to work in a flexible way in respect of works required outside of normal working hours.
  • Able to use initiative and make suggestions to change processes where required.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel to the Firms' offices when required.
