Purpose of Position

The GDUK LS Health, Safety and Environmental Officer is responsible for the maintenance and management of health and safety and environment for the Land Systems business unit.

This role requires the holder to maintain legal compliance of the business and site to health and safety environment legislation


Responsibilities Include

  • Day-to day management of Health and safety for LS Business unit
  • Verifying compliance to the GDUK ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management system
  • Generation and management of site and trials Risk Assessments
  • Carry out workplace inspections
  • Carry out accident and near miss investigations
  • Ensuring interface between product safety and workplace is maintained and to assist in the delivery of safe product
  • Maintain the business unit legal aspects register including regular review of changes in legislation
  • Coordinate the site safety committee meetings
  • Maintain SHE process documents in line with legislation changes and business changes
  • Coordination with stakeholders to ensure that compliance is achieved to SHE related legislation
  • Assisting in / delivering the provision of health and safety training
  • Education / Experience

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
  • DSE Assessor
  • Fire Risk Assessor
  • Work at heights training
  • Electrical safety training
  • COSHH Assessment
  • First Aid at Work Training
  • Computer literate
