WRS Tech’s team have a number of vacancies for multiple businesses covering the UK and overseas.

This particular client I am recruiting for are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer As the Field Service Engineer your aim is to carry out field service activity (service, warranty and repair) covering all our clients engines and control systems in all applications covering the Marine / Rail / Genset sector.

WRS Tech’s client is a well-established and highly regarded entity within the marine engineering industry.

Responsibilities (Brief Outline) :

  • Service & Repair Work on Diesel / Gas Engines, Generators plus Ancillaries and Controls Systems
  • Commissioning of Diesel Engines, Gensets and control systems to ensure that all products are ready for the customer
  • Carry out Sea Trials on Marine Engines (Yacht and Commercial) (e.g. RNLI)
  • Technical Reports on completion of each job detailing the work undertaken and the reasons why
  • To use diagnostic tools and procedures and identify faults (communicated to the customer)
  • Support other service and sales activities as directed
  • Responsible for stock control of parts and equipment that are in their care
  • As and when required perform duties in the workshop
  • Knowledge / Skills Required :

  • Good communication skills, able to work both independently and as part of a team when required
  • You must be qualified / conversant with Diesel Engines / Generating Sets and their Control Systems
  • Ability to use both traditional and PC based diagnostics
  • The successful applicant will be required to travel extensively within the UK & ROI
  • The Field Service Engineers job is described as working from home, however the engineers may be required to work in the offices / workshops when not in the field
  • Qualifications / Documents / Other Requirements :

  • Passport
  • Time served apprenticeship HND / HNC in Engineering
  • Completed an industry recognised apprenticeship / course (BTEC, C&G, etc) in an engineering related subject (Mechanical / Electrical or Electrical) and in the Marine, Genset, Rail, CHP or Commercial Vehicle related application.
