We have an exciting opportunityfor a Manager,Operational Excellence to join the Cardiometabolic business unit,which is within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division (ARDx), to be based at our HQ in Lake Forest, IL (USA), orin Dundee, Scotland (UK).

Inthis individual contributor role, the incumbent will provide Operational Excellence leadership andguidance to the manufacturing sites and functions within the Global Operationsand Global Quality functions.

Theprimary focus will be to ensure that the organization has established the rightbusiness processes, provided our employees with the necessary tools, and inpartnership with the other leaders in the Operations and Quality organizationsthis position establishes and maintains the culture necessary for sustainedcontinuous improvement.

  • Drives Continuous ImprovementCulture throughout the sites and functions
  • Deploying OPEX toolsthroughout the sites
  • Leadership of the ManagementOperating System (MOS) for the business unit, ensuring sites and functions areutilizing the process to drive improvement in performance
  • Contributing member of theARDx community of practice, ensuring coordination between business unit anddivisional level programs where appropriate
  • Leadership of specific ARDxcommunity of practice initiatives
  • Facilitating the annual goalsetting process for the Operations and Quality organizations
  • Carries out duties incompliance with established business policies
  • Other duties as assigned,according to the changing needs of the business
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS / BA degree, plus a minimum 7years of leading continue improvement efforts within a regulated industry : Automotive,Food, Healthcare, Aviation
  • Experience with LEAN and SixSigma, and leading initiatives in this area
  • Yellow and Green Beltcertification required;
  • Exposure to validation andmedical device manufacturing processes is ideal.
  • Knowledge of federal and otherregulations governing medical device assembly and design, e.g. GMP, QSR, ISOand CMDR.
