Candidate must live within 1 hour drive of the site or be willing to relocate within this area immediately.

E.ON is a global provider of specialised energy solutions. E.ON Climate & Renewables (EC&R) is responsible for E.ON’s industrial-

scale renewable energy activities. We develop, build and operate large renewable energy assets primarily in Europe and North America.

You’ll carry out fault finding work on our turbines to ensure they are always properly maintained. It’s a varied role that will see you getting involved in servicing, reactive and proactive maintenance, inspections of inspections of key electrical and mechanical systems, modifications, retrofits and main component exchanges.

In particular, you’ll use SCADA systems and other computer-based systems to interrogate turbines, reset faults and instigate maintenance activities.

And of course, you’ll need to follow our EC&R HSSE management system. Put simply, you will have a vital role to play in minimising any failures, keeping the wind turbines moving and maximising our energy yield.

Normal working hours will be 7.4 hours per day Monday Friday however you will also be required to be form part of a weekend call out rota as necessary Ad hoc travel will be required to support other sites in the area.

We are taking over the running of the site from Vestas, so you will be the first E.ON technicians on site; the site has 22 Vestas V90 2 megawatt turbines.

Day to operations you will be part of a small site team a Production Manager and two Technicians. Although you will be part of a larger Operation and Maintenance team

Your profile

What do we need from you?

  • Extensive experience in wind turbine maintenance, proven wind turbine technician.
  • Experienced in mechanical, electrical, power electronics and hydraulic trouble shooting and maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrated advanced use of complex power tools such as hydraulic rams, inductive heaters and diagnostic tools (e.g. advance fluke meter functions, VOB data collection).
  • A sound understanding of HSSE systems, to establish a safe work environment.
  • Have a proven ability to troubleshoot on complex systems.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team with minimal supervision.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • It would be great if you are :

  • A competent slinger and banksman.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire and commitment to performance.
  • Trained in First Aid at Work, Working at Heights / Tower Rescue.
