CGL are seeking to recruit a dynamic and motivated individual to the position of Recovery Worker for the Taith Open Access and Engagement provision across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

The project provides an integrated treatment service, which delivers a range of tier 1 & 2 interventions as well as working closely with other voluntary and statutory partner agencies.

  • Working as part of a successful team the post holder will be responsible for delivering a range of interventions including open access;
  • assessment clinics; drop in programs; group work; pod working; semi and structured key work; outreach support; promoting safer injecting practices to reduce risks to health and wellbeing as a result of injecting drug use, via our needle exchange provisions for service users who either self-

    refer or are referred via partner agencies.

    The post holder will also have excellent communication and organisational skills as well as demonstrable experience of effective partnership working.

    In addition, an excellent understanding of substance misuse and evidenced based psychosocial interventions is essential.

    The post holder will be committed to taking a positive, holistic and empowering approach to case management and co-ordination.

    They will work with service users to initiate recovery from drug and / or alcohol dependence, to enable them to build their own recovery capital and to support them to move into long term sustained recovery and social (re)integration.

    The post holder will also be required to work flexibly across operational sites as required and work within an agreed number of hours to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision.

    This may include evening and weekend working. The post holder will be expected to take responsibility for personal development, identifying personal training needs and participate in regular supervision and appraisal.
