Initially based in Malvern, the role would require flexibility for a 6 month deployment to Cambridgeshire)

Due to the continued growth in demand for QinetiQ’s products and services, we are looking to appoint a Test Engineer to join our growing Software Engineering team.

Our Test Engineers help ensure that technically challenging projects are fit for purpose and are robust when released to customers.

As part of a highly skilled and professional team, you will work closely with specialists from across a number of disciplines.

We are interested in hearing from flexible candidates at the start of their career who are willing to spend part of their initial deployment based across two locations, Malvern in Worcestershire and St Ives Cambridgeshire.

Further deployments will be based from Malvern. The candidate must be willing to undertake enhanced security clearance checks.

The successful candidate will work closely with the test manager and will assist in development of testing documentation (including test procedures and test scripts) and the testing of deliverables (unit, integration, factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing).

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required :

  • Degree in a computer science, engineering or maths subject or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Experience of the Software Development Life-cycle and Testing Methodologies
  • Ability to development test procedures from scratch and from existing test cases
  • Able to perform execution, analysis and reporting of test results to the test lead.
  • Experience of using Bug Tracking Tools - Complete bug life cycle management
  • Soft Skills : Communication skills, Report writing, ability to estimate effort, ability to determine activities
  • Willingness to learn / adaptable / self-starter
