Our Reputation &Information Protection team has for many years been recognised in thedirectories and the market as leaders in the field.

The role is primarily as a member of the Reputation & InformationProtection team, but will include commercial litigation work as well.

In addition to commercial litigationexperience, the candidate will have significant expertise in and experience ofreputation and information law (i.

e. defamation, privacy, confidentiality, harassmentand contentious data protection) and of the practicalities of crisis management,responding to media enquiries, and handling other threats to reputation and / orprivacy, whether from competitors, employees, activists or online content.

Candidates can therefore expect to be advising businesses andindividuals on reputation and privacy issues, as well as data loss response, ICOinvestigations, responding to data subject access and FOI / EIR requests,and lossor theft of confidential information.

Much of our work, and business development, has an internationaldimension and will involve working with our overseas offices and / or ourpreferred foreign law firms.

You willalso often be working with our clients' in-house comms teams and their externalPR agencies.

Our ideal candidate will need the following skills :

  • Excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2 : 1 degree
  • A minimum of three years' PQE in a comparable practice
  • A solid depth of understanding and expertise in reputation and information law
  • The ability to lead and support specialist and / or complex matters, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as needed
  • Ability to delegate to and supervise others
  • Willing to support business development activity, creating and maintaining strong client relationships.
