VANRATH are actively recruiting for a commercially astute EMEA Payroll Manager on behalf of a market leading global organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Operations the Senior Settlements Manager will initially be responsible for leading the setup and mentoring of a new function in Belfast then subsequently working with colleagues in London on a knowledge transfer and service migration.
Once this initial phase is complete the Manager will then be responsible for the delivery of Business as Usual activities
Key Responsibilities :
Responsible for the daily management of the EMEA Settlements Team
Particular emphasis is on the prompt confirmation of the trades and efficient settlement of trades through domestic and international settlement agents, as well as FX products cleared via prime brokers.
Particular focus is on the delivery of timely and accurate information of counter parties and settlement agents whilst maintaining a controlled and efficient environment.
Maintain strong relationships with the business, technology, other corporate services and external provider
Managing, motivating and developing staff in the EMEA Settlements Department
Escalation point for all Settlement issues
To be a key member of the Operations Management team, in EMEA
Maintaining strong professional relationships with all settlement agents
Building / maintaining strong relationships with Risk Management, Technology and Broker Management
Ensuring that business processes / systems are monitored and reviewed regularly
Understanding the departments defined Business Continuity Plans and regularly testing them
Producing management information (MI) on KPIs e.g. failed trades, late settlements, trade numbers and ensuring appropriate action is taken to address underlying issues and opportunities identified
Maintaining a strong control environment with particular emphasis on the completion of all reconciliations and the maintenance of a high standard of data integrity
Monitoring any open trades and escalate any concerns to Business Heads, Senior Management and Risk on a timely basis
Ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements to external bodies including transaction reporting for regulatory purposes
Ensuring the department remain up-to-date and in compliance with all FCA regulations and requirements affecting the Settlements Department
Approving Swift payments and agent bank electronic communications

The Ideal Person :
Must be legally eligible to work in the UK
Deep financial services operations knowledge and experience
Strong, demonstrable experience of effectively managing a team within a capital markets or financial services operations environment
Strong proven experience in the management of a multiple teams that operates under pressure
Experienced in building and establishing teams, and through mentoring, empowering team members to achieve and deliver against evolving goals
Proven experience in identifying, implementing and ensuring successful process improvements
