Senior System Designer Assured Systems

We currently have a vacancyfor a Senior System Designer specialising in military information systems withinour Defence Information business at our Christchurch site.

As a Senior System Designer, you will be responsible for leadingthe designing of military information systems, building close workingrelationships with our customer communities, maintaining a thorough knowledge ofmarket leading technologies and providing direction and support to ourdevelopment teams to produce new innovative products and solutions.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop yourcareer and extend your knowledge in a niche and strategically important area ofthe business and provide you with the opportunity to work across a wide rangeof significant military land, air and sea platforms.

Your mainresponsibilities as a Senior System Designer will include :

  • Lead the designing of informationsystems and services of the future
  • Building strong customerrelationships
  • Maintain a thoroughknowledge of current assured technologies
  • Managing a team oflikeminded individuals
  • Awareness ofcompetitors and their capabilities
  • Youwill manage a growing team, all with an underlying passion for technology and driveto continually learn, innovate and demonstrate their skills and abilities toall stakeholders.

    You will have a trackrecord as a system designer within the information systems and servicesindustry that has been underpinned with practical hands on experience.

    You should have qualifications, skills orexperience covering :

  • Degree or equivalent inrelevant engineering discipline
  • System designmethodologies
  • MoD or Industry ITprojects and programmes
  • Information Assurance(IA)
  • Security architecturesand COTS integration
  • Product safety,certification and legislative standards
  • What we're looking forin you :

  • Recent experiencedesigning information systems for military or commercial use
  • Management of designteams
  • Behaviours, such as Collaboration;Inspiration; Creativity
  • A network of contactsacross industry
  • Professionalregistration, chartership or willingness to obtain
  • Youmust be an excellent communicator, with the ability to manage people and buildeffective relationships.You must havethe ability to think strategically and consider the bigger-

    picture with yourrole.The role will provideopportunities to travel both within the UK and abroad, and you will need tohave or able to attain the required levels of security clearance for the role.

    Location : Christchurch, Dorset

    Salary : Up to £75,000 based on experience
