Senior Site Manager CP6 Anglia Rail

J. Murphy & Sons are growing and are now looking for Senior Site Managers to lead the teams on CP6 Anglia. This portfolio of works will offer variety form day one and covers a number of individual stations and sites.

As a senior Site Manager your responsibilities will include design site surveys, logics preparation work & actual construction tasks as well as the demobilisation & hand back into operational use.

The ideal candidate will be a true people leader, motivating and leading by example along with a natural flare for problem solving.

The Project

Murphy has been awarded one of three multi-billion-pound contracts by Network Rail for the South of England, worth up to £7bn for Control Period 6 (2019-2024).

The multi-discipline framework will deliver projects of varying value, including stations, buildings and civils, electrifications, power, signalling, telecommunications and track.

This is initially in place for a five-year period but has the option of three one-year extensions if required.

The Role

  • Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised
  • Assume responsibility for the successful on site delivery of projects
  • Deliver the work safely including the avoidance of environmental cases
  • Deliver the work to the specified plans with top quality finish
  • Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, ITP’s and waste management plans, in line with company procedures
  • Assist with produce and manage the project programme and produce 2 4 weeks look ahead
  • About You

  • Experience in construction site management or equivalent in related activities within the NR Civils Construction field
  • Competence and knowledge in the construction and supervision, including station working environment
  • Competence in Construction Management skills, motivated, has strong leadership, able to encourage and develop team members
  • Knowledge of civil and structural standards and other associated NR procedures used in the these types of projects. Including specific station access & permit requirement
  • Excellent technical background and skills in working within an NR Railway environment.
  • Understanding of other disciplines interfaces such as E&P, Signalling, OLE, & Telecommunication from site activities point of view.
  • Good negotiation and influence skills, innovative, creative thinker
