Brief Overview of the role :

The role of Business development is vital to the continued growth and profitability of Euromonitor International. Your main role will be generating new and additional revenues primarily from new clients with and secondarily from existing clients.

You will be a highly self-motivated sales professional with a proven track record for selling in the business-to-business arena and have the tenacity, drive, commercial awareness and persuasiveness to find the right contact and sell the benefits of our products.

As this role involves selling global solutions to large, multinational companies, you will be skilled in networking within a target company and bringing together the needs of customer personnel into collective service solutions.

This represents a significant opportunity for someone looking for a diverse and in-depth international sales role, targeting senior management in customer organisations.

Key responsibilities :

  • Understand all of Euromonitor’s intelligence systems, how to show them and how they are used by our customers by roles within customer organisations and by end applications
  • Understand the full range of our Consulting research capability and be able to describe that range by generic research type, by past project examples and by end applications to different types of client and business situation
  • To react to incoming opportunities from sales and account managers, and further develop and shape those consulting opportunities through follow-up calls and meetings
  • To help proactively develop new business opportunities in conjunction with sales staff relying on previous project types which can be marketed to prospective clients
  • To help manage the sales cycle for new leads and proposals and ensure that all enquiries and proposals are handled as quickly and effectively as possible.
  • Ability to identify and communicate (verbally and in writing) clear client objectives, i.e. the client company’s aims in its own business.
  • To prepare sophisticated, tailor-made proposals; and manage their delivery and active follow up
  • To negotiate terms and close consulting deals in association with relevant senior colleagues as appropriate
  • To understand Euromonitor’s competitors and how to present us as different and / or superior to them
  • To help clients with research and / or technical support, as required
  • To work with sales staff and account managers to maximise revenue opportunities from our existing client base and raise client awareness of consulting services
  • To help maintain all directories and systems for new business development
  • This business development role requires strong links with Consulting research and Account Management staff, including after winning new projects to ensure successful handover and implementation, and continued client relationship management to lead to future revenue streams. This will include :

  • Actively involving other Cg staff in lead, proposal work and follow-up as demanded.
  • Client hand-over

  • Account management for repeat business opportunities.
  • Skills / Proficiencies required :

  • An outstanding personal sales track record
  • Proven experience of selling to large multi-national organisations
  • Intelligent, able to solve problems, and react positively to change
  • Tenacity, drive and resilience
  • Commercial awareness
  • A targets-driven approach to work
  • Experience in strategic market information sales
  • Self-motivated and organised
  • Business fluency; reading, writing and communicating in English and another European language would be an advantage
  • Experience in research and / or selling to consumer-related / financial service sales / public sector is an advantage but not required
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
