The primary responsibilities and accountabilities of this role include :

Innovation sourcing

  • Plan, execute and champion supplier-enabled innovation (SEI) to scale our innovation capability by leveraging our existing and potential supply base
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technologies to proactively minimize risk and exploit emerging opportunities
  • Partner with the business and third parties on experimentation and proofs-of-concept to test hypotheses and validate demand
  • Structure supplier relationships and third party ecosystems with profitable business models and efficient operating models
  • Use design and user experience methods to improve engagement and maximize return-on-investment
  • Transfer category and product expertise within the Sourcing community to help build and expand our knowledge and expertise
  • Business partnership

  • Create and foster relationships with innovation leaders in customer-facing teams (Applied Innovation, Proposition, Product) and operational teams (functions such as Technology)
  • Provide advice and input to shape business goals and plans
  • Align current and planned sourcing strategies with business objectives
  • Communicate our value proposition and the value we have created to key stakeholders and senior management
  • Category management and strategic sourcing

  • Coordinate innovation sourcing activities across multiple spend categories, including professional services, technology and data, and help category managers advance their strategies through supplier innovation and innovative practices
  • Lead the strategic sourcing process for related projects developing solutions, scoping and defining requirements, identifying best in class suppliers, managing the selection process (including RFx and e-
  • sourcing), negotiating with suppliers, contracting the deal and overseeing the lifecycle of the relationship

  • Proactively monitor supplier competencies and competitive positioning

  • Sourcing and procurement understanding of the key commercial and relationship drivers for managing spend effectively and ability to execute on it
  • Curious and open-minded brings new ideas and practices, uses collaborative approaches
  • Comfortable with ambiguity copes with uncertainty and risk, adapts to change and makes decisions with limited information
  • Professional Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business and / or technology-related area
  • Experience in both a corporate and a start-up environment
  • Experience with innovation methods such as lean experimentation and design thinking
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital, automation, cloud; experience of data science or the financial community is a bonus
  • Experience with managing or facilitating distributed teams (virtual)
  • Working knowledge of negotiations and contracting
