Due to this continuous growth we now have a senior vacancy to join our ecology team in Southampton.

Job Description

You would be required to assist in the continued delivery of specialist environmental consultancy services. The environment team provides a wide range of specialist environmental support to internal and external clients and has an increasing workload within both the transportation and development sectors.

The team is currently looking to expand to meet its current and future commitments.

Your duties will principally involve the provision of ecological surveys and assessments and assistance in the everyday running of the ecology team, including (for the more senior role) business development, bid preparation, and supervision and mentoring of junior staff.

Candidate Specification

For you to be considered for this role you must have the following :

  • Degree in ecology or directly related subject
  • Proven experience in a consultancy environment
  • You will have a variety of protected species licences and be experienced in liaising with regulatory bodies to negotiate and obtain consents
  • Major infrastructure schemes experience
  • EcIA experience to IEEM standard
  • Participatory experience of statutory environmental assessment procedures
  • Working knowledge of the requirements of documents such as WebTAG and DMRB
  • Mentoring skills for junior staff
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Driving licence
