Would you like towork in a fast growing, entrepreneurial practice? We have an excitingopportunity for an ambitious Assistant Underwriter to join our Cyber & TMTdivision.
The London Cyber & TMT division is a new and evolving team set upto spearhead AXA XL’s push into Cyber & TMT outside of the US market.
The underwriting focus will be on medium tolarge open market Cyber & TMT business that enters the UK and cross sellingCyber into the wider AXA XL company.
As an AssistantUnderwriter you will support the London Underwriters in all tasks related tothe underwriting and administration support.
You will work closely with our Underwriters supporting them in theiractivities associated with renewals, maintenance of the accounts and on modelsand systems.
As a strong team player you will assist the team in data qualityassurance and continuous development of best practice in Business Services.
Youwill utilise your strong communication and relationship building skills as youwork closely with the underwriters, clients, brokers and various functions anddepartments within the company.
What will your essentialresponsibilities include?
Underwriting under guidance (within limits); including usingmodelling systems to aid the underwritingprocess, reviewing submissions, policywording, inspection reports, loss runs, and financial reports while conductingappropriate research to determine degree of risk and appropriate premiums foreach account.
Supportthe team and management on strategic Cyber & TMT projects for the UK team.
Support the Underwriters on underwriting SMEbusiness and implementing SME strategy.
Conducting pre-underwriting for renewals, handling endorsements on activebusiness, conducting specific analyses for new business.
Preparing monthly reports and under guidance support the business inplanning and forecasting and providing analysis and reporting on the Cyberportfolio to the team, internal stakeholders and to Lloyd’s.
Assisting underwriters with administrative processing and requests.Including liaising with administrative teams to ensure the timely, accurateentry of information in to the underwriting systems and to ensure the successof operational processes.
Developing an internal network for facilitating thetransfer of information and data between functions and departments in order toservice the requirements of the underwriters and clients.
Assist the Cyber & TMT team in maintaining and developing their bookof business while developing the necessary skill sets and defined authority toaccept risk in underwriting of a profitable account.
Understand the strategy and financial targets ofAXA XL Insurance and the Cyber & TMT team. You will be set appropriateindividual targets and goals that support delivery of the business plan.
Attending internal and external meetings and events with clients andbrokers and attending the AXA XL Cyber Box at Lloyd’s to actively promote theAXA XL Cyber & TMT brand within in the London Market
You will report to the Head ofCyber & TMT, UK.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities andskills :
Proven experience in anunderwriting team and / or the Cyber market. Experience in operations or projectmanagement also useful.
A personal drive forexcellence, a track record of exceeding expectations and a flair forinnovation.
Strong analytical, exceland powerpoint skills with the ability to think quickly and innovatively anddeliver quick results.
You will be confidentand comfortable to take personal responsibility for your work but will also bea strong team player.
Under direction,possess the ability to understand and develop business process, practices,strategy and planning.
Ability to adaptquickly and easily to new conditions and requirements, externally in the marketor internally within a changing organisation.
Good written and oralcommunication skills and interpersonally savvy with an interest and ability inbuilding strong relationships with brokers and internally.
A Bachelor’s degree(or equivalent).
Relevant professionaldesignations or be progressing along the way to achieving such designations : You will be expected to undertake professional studies where these are notalready held commensurate with the roles and responsibilities.
