People and Organisational Development, Human Resources

The People and Organisational Development team offer award-winning development and learning opportunities for everyone at the University of York, from individual staff, teams and departments to students through our diverse range of programmes.

The department is seeking to recruit a new Development Partner on a fixed-term basis to contribute to the University’s development needs.

Role

You will use your significant experience in a training delivery role to support the design, delivery and evaluation of an extended programme of staff development activities.

You will also contribute to the delivery of endorsed or accredited leadership programmes and student-specific programmes.

You will be able to apply a blended learning approach to enhance our provision through the use of technology, for example through the development of webinars and digitally enabled platforms.

You will have a passion for continuous improvement to service and be a flexible, pragmatic, can-do team player. Joining our diverse team of Development Partners, you will be outcome-

focused and evidence-driven to ensure the interventions we offer are aligned to the institutional strategic ambitions and departmental priorities.

You will co-create in collaboration and partnership with colleagues within HR and across the institution, and you will adopt a facilitative approach to maximise learning and enhance best practice.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualifications
  • Experience

  • Significant experience in a training delivery role within a large complex organisation
  • Broad experience in designing and delivering skills training to a diverse population, ideally including management development, team development, performance management, employee engagement, change management and facilitation of away-days.
  • Proven track record of working with line managers to identify specific training needs and ensure individual and team development plans are implemented
  • Skills, abilities and competencies

  • Customer service focus and approach
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work with a variety of managers at all levels including Senior Managers / Academics
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate training provision
  • The ability to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Highly developed team facilitation skills
  • Able to construct L&D programmes which can enable transfer of learning back in workplace
