Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

Quality Manager, reporting to the Site General Manager. A team size of circa 10, responsible for Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities

To manage the Quality Management System to ensure that customer's receive product to the highest standard of quality, continuously pursuing Zero Defects and maintaining customer focus and centricity.

Provide solid leadership to the quality department and team. Manage, develop, energise and motivate an effective Quality staff.

Chair and organise Management Reviews to ensure continuing suitability and effectiveness of the Quality Management System and to assess any improvement opportunities for the Quality Management System.

Ensure all processes required for the Quality Management System are established, implemented and maintained.

Perform internal ISO and Supplier Quality Audits as necessary to ensure compliance with policies and expectations.

Manage external audits from regulators, customers, and certification bodies

Ensure products are correctly receipted and released to the necessary standards.

Develop the Strategy for all aspects of Quality that underpins that of the business.

Manage and lead the Quality team, and ensure there are appropriate development opportunites for the team members.

Monitor quality indicators, such as Cost of Quality, Customer and Supplier DPPM

Lead, participate and facilitate continuous improvements events and projects to support the business goals and objectives.

Contiually develop culture to focus on Zero Defects, utilising CI tools and methodologies.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

Degree (or equivalent) qualified, preferably in Electrical / Electronics Engineering

7 years technical experience of quality systems in Aerospace, and 3 years leadership experience

Familiarity with quality standard ISO9001

Experience in electronic component manufacturing environment, for aerospace applications

Understanding and demonstrated application of PFMEA, PPAP, APQP

An appreciation of quality improvement tools; eg SPC, MSA

Demonstrated development and application of lead and lagging indicators
