This role is crucial to the operational teams support for the Defence customer communications systems. The purpose of the role is to provide support for bespoke managed services.
This includes providing 2nd line support to virtualized computer systems, working with system users to resolve operation issues and the production and administration of IP performance reports.
You will be required to work as the Custodian, accounting for cryptographic materials, as well as ensuring the availability of incident management systems and tools and their availability during fall back activation.
You will provide support to the wider operational team in terms of service maintenance, administration and problem resolution.
You'll have the following responsibilities
2nd Line Technical Support Professional and Specialist on a large, complex and highly secure contract.
Maintain and deliver performance reports to agreed service levels. Ensure the correct generation and deployment of the reports to the user portals
Providing as required assistance to the operational and service support systems teams- this includes maintenance, systems administration, problem investigation and resolution.
Responsible for the care and custody of sensitive materials in accordance with the Defence Crypto security Operating Instructions.
Work with the DFTS Security team on matters related to Crypto security.
Ensure site maintenance issues are reported to the relevant service provider and escalated were appropriate.
To provide timely intervention and resolution of incidents as flagged by the customer and / or from the systems monitoring tools.
Proactively monitoring systems and incident management to react in a timely manner to requests and changes.
Responsible for Provision, Repair, Network Management & System Admin for IP networks.
You'll have the following skills & experience
Management and Administration of Windows Server 2016 Domain services.
Operational Event monitoring and management of Orion Solarwinds.
Juniper / Cisco Switching, Routing, Security configuration management.
Management of Palo Alto Firewall systems.
VMWare Datacentre operations including ESXi 6.7, vSphere 6.7 & Horizon 7.11
Experienced within running a highly complex network operating centre
Able to interact with a wide range of senior external and internal stakeholders
Able to operate within a high pressured and highly secure environment, to deliver technical solutions in short time frames
