An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Ayrshire and Arran Library Services as we move to appoint a Knowledge Service Manager to provide strategic leadership across all three of our libraries.
This is a permanent 30 hour post and will be based within University Hospital Ayr, however will require travel to the other two hospital library sites
Our Library services deliver a high quality, responsive library and knowledge management service in support of the delivery and continuous improvement of safe, effective, person-centred care.
The service supports good healthcare practice, management, education, research, lifelong learning and continuing professional development.
Key responsibility will include providing leadership, strategic direction, operational and resource management for the delivery of Library Services across multiple sites in NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
Your role will include working with partners and key stakeholders in identifying their information and knowledge needs and in developing the strategic agenda for Library services.
Management and development of all aspects of the Library services, including management of a site library. Extending access to Library services including through the promotion of the Knowledge Network and providing knowledge outreach services in local communities and ultimately to improve patient outcomes through the promotion of evidence based practice
We are looking for an enthusiast individual with a degree and postgraduate qualification in information and library studies and a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).
You should have an up-to-date professional knowledge in the field of library service provision. You must have proven experience building and maintaining strong relationships and have previous experience in a library management role.
