One of my client primary schools which is located in Harrow, North West London has an immediate vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant.
This large, outstanding graded school is very popular within the local community and is served well by public transport. The school is no more than a 5 minute walk from a Jubilee tube station.
They now have funding in place for an Autistic student, so they are desperately keen to recruit a Learning Support Assistant for the rest of the academic year.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate with previous experience of working with Autistic children, and trained to work with children with special educational needs.
However, I have been informed by the school, that for an outstanding candidate, they are happy to train someone in this area.
As much as the experience would be an advantage, it isn’t essential as long as you have the commitment, passion and empathy this role needs.
The Headteacher has informed me that the student you would be working with has no challenging behaviour and is a delight to work with, but does need to be kept on track whilst in the classroom to stop them from distracting others.
As a Learning Support Assistant at this school, you will be well supported by the schools SEN Leader, who will help you settle into school life with minimal fuss.
This is an important role the school are looking to fill, and for the right candidate this role will be highly rewarding and give the right candidate the best experience before pursuing a career in the education sector.
