About The Role

What can you expect? As a Retail Junior HR Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the HR Advisor in ensuring the delivery of a professional HR Advisory service to the Retail sector.

  • You will assist the HR Advisor in managing all people related projects and issues, to drive forward the people agenda and encourage the development of effective people managers across the business area. Critical Purpose of Role;
  • Support the HR Advisor in managing all HR related projects and issues within your business area
  • Provide professional, pragmatic and commercially focused HR advice to all stakeholders within the business area
  • Assist the HR Advisor in delivering end-to-end support and guidance to line-managers on a full breadth of employment relations (ER) issues
  • Work with HR Advisor and HR Administrator to ensure the provision of a high-quality and consistent HR service across the Retail sector
  • Main Responsibilities;
  • Act as the first point of contact for line-managers and take ownership of handling basic HR queries, escalating and supporting the HR Advisor with more complex issues, as appropriate
  • Provide robust written and verbal HR advice to stakeholders, prepare case related documentation and ensure the correct and consistent application of HR policies and procedures across the business area
  • Work with the HR Advisor to develop and align the HR strategy with key business priorities for both your business area and the Company’s overall strategic plans
  • Support the HR Advisor in managing a varied caseload of employment relations (ER) issues, including discipline, grievance, performance, absence and change management
  • About You Desired Skills & Knowledge;
  • To have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a HR Assistant or similar HR related role
  • Demonstrable experience of leading or supporting the management of ER issues
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to work on own initiative
  • A pragmatic decision-maker
  • Strong IT and report collation skills
  • A full UK Drivers License / a willingness to travel to and work from other sites is essential for this role
  • A CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential
