Our team is building the next generation Sports Betting platform that optimizes flexibility, performance, responsiveness and resiliency.

The technologies we like to use include Java, SpringBoot, Kafka, Cassandra, Postgres, Kubernetes, AWS, Postgres, etc.

We're looking for an experienced Java Developer to work directly with the business. Working within an agile team, you will deliver high-quality, customer-focused, software to exceed the customer's expectations.

You'll be active in all phases of the development lifecycle.

We deal with projects ranging from mobile Casinos to online Sportsbooks and everything in between. The software you write will process 500 online bets per second, accommodate 20 million users, and process 160 terabytes a day.

Your role in the team

  • Translating functional and non-functional requirements into working software with your team
  • Working closely with the team to analyse, debug and resolve any defects
  • A commitment to monitoring and observability
  • Ensuring technical debt is managed effectively (avoid creating it & remove it whenever there's opportunity)
  • Communicate clearly with everyone, translating non-technical and technical requirements appropriately
  • Understands timelines and dependencies, coordinating with teams around you
  • Taking responsibility for product delivery and your contributions to it
  • Active participation in the communities of practice associated with your role
  • Supporting the production environment for products and services delivered by your team during office hours
  • Skills needed

    As a Java Developer in our team, you'll be curious and open minded when it comes to technology. You'll need to bring a positive, collaborative attitude and solid commercial development experience from an Agile / DevOps environment.

    You're familiar with the full SDLC of an application, contract-first development, and also confident with CI / CD and monitoring tools.

    You will enjoy coding and creating great software, and will have a continuous learning mindset. It is important that you have a fundamental understanding of Java, and the Java ecosystem.

    Familiarity with concepts of the below is desirable :

  • SpringBoot
  • Kafka (or other messaging platforms)
  • Postgres (or other SQL databases)
  • Cassandra (or other NoSQL databases)
  • Docker
  • GitLab (or other SCM platform)
  • GitLab CI (or other CI / CD tooling
  • Familiarity with concepts of the below is beneficial but not expected :

  • New Relic (or other monitoring platforms)
  • Splunk (or other logging platforms)
  • AWS Lambdas
  • Kubernetes (or other orchestration platforms)
  • ISTIO (or other service meshes)
  • Terraform (or other infrastructure as code tooling)
  • OpenAPI (or other contract first approach with APIs)
