Development Assistant (Design & Shopfitting) - Kickstart Scheme Applicants Only

Pay Rates Are : £5.53 for age 16 & 17 / £8.32 for age 18 to 20 / £8.91 for age 21 and over

The Government's Kickstart Scheme has meant that we have a new and exciting opportunity to offer you for 6 months as a Development Assistant working within our Blakemore Design and Shopfitting Division.

Under the scheme we will offer you a great incite into the business as well as thorough 'on-the-job' training. We will also offer you an opportunity to go through our Employability Skills Training, which will include supporting you with CV writing, applying for vacancies and interviewing techniques.

We also aim to prioritise our own permanent vacancies in the business, where suitable, for our Kickstart colleagues.

Reporting directly to the Line manager, you will support the development team with daily duties and ensure that all working documentation and specifications are frequently updated in line with business requirements, with all amendments communicated in a timely manner.

Key Accountabilities & Duties :

  • Ensure the Pipelines are updated on a weekly basis.
  • Supporting development managers with formatting of quotes and ensuring all information is stored correctly.
  • Contacting contractors & suppliers for information that have been requested for Development Manager’s.
  • Contacting contractors & suppliers for the resolution of snagging issues.
  • Providing aftercare project support.
  • Producing presentations to support the Development team.
  • Producing and distributing meeting minutes following team meetings.
  • To support process improvement by the production of key documentation.
  • Carry out site visits when required reporting back to Development Manager
  • Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications :

  • Full driving license. (2 year Minimum)
  • Willingness to travel nationally & internationally
  • Full (in date) passport
  • GCSE (A-C) as a minimum.
  • A level’s or equivalent desirable.
  • Competence in all Microsoft programs
