The Legal Counsel works in the legal department of the RCS Division and participates in the bid process and projects in execution by assuming responsibility for all legal aspects from the Invitation To Tender (ITT) until the end of the warranty period.

He / she manages legal affairs for the RCS Division in the UK, including legal administration of legal entities, rental and lease contracts, legal proceedings or project specific insurance matters, etc.

Main responsibilities :

Participates in a wide range of activities concerning all legal areas :

Project Execution : throughout the life of a project, assisting various departments with regard to contractual and legal issues, managing project-related litigation

Bids : Pre-tender related work, Bid Approval process, Contract negotiation with customers, suppliers and consortium partners

Corporate Affairs for the Legal entities under the responsibility of the RCS Division in UK : Ensure that all quarterly / yearly required corporate activities are completed and reported internally and / or externally as the case may be

Governance : Ensure that the Contracts & Legal Affairs function fulfils its responsibilities in the applicable Policies and Directives, in lead or in support, as the case may be

  • Claims & Litigation : Follows up on the assistance to Project Execution and leads all litigious claims, project and non-project related (litigations related to HR excepted);
  • ensure proper governance and reporting of the claims and litigations, notably by chairing a Claim Review Board

  • Graduate in Law
  • Eligibility to practice law in UK
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Qualification is not a prerequisite, but would be an advantage
  • Ability to speak and write advanced English
  • Other language skills are a plus
  • Experience in commercial law, competition law, international contracts
  • Ability to work autonomously, but also within a team
  • Very good interpersonal skills
  • Availability for occasional business travels
