This exciting role is within our Scotland Corporate Tax Advisory Team based in either the Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen office.

The Scotland tax team works across many sectors with many different types of clients. We assist our clients by managing and advising on UK corporation tax and international tax projects as part of multidisciplinary and multi-jurisdictional teams.

We provide specialist advice on a variety of complex issues, including global tax strategy and structure, cross border financing, expanding into new markets (including the UK), tax reporting, cross-border M&A, and intra-group reorganisations.

We are looking for a talented individual at Senior Manager level to support our continued rapid growth. The role will include working with a wide range of UK and international businesses of all sizes and the individual will manage an exciting portfolio of clients and a variety of UK corporation tax and international tax projects.

Role and Responsibilties :

Working as a key member of the team, you will work on and manage a range of projects and clients, including :

  • Managing the successful delivery of technically excellent advice including tax structuring, refinancing, legal structure optimisation, pre / post transaction reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, tax reporting and providing technical support to the wider tax team.
  • Managing UK and cross border teams on advisory projects, liaising with specialists, overseas member firms and external advisers, to deliver successful projects and expertise to our clients.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and understanding their business in order to build your own external network and create opportunities to help with the provision of tax and other services.
  • Seeking out and pursuing opportunities with targets and actively participating with Directors and Partners in business development activities.
  • Managing proposals for new work, including delivering tender documents, presenting at client pitches, and identifying solutions for client issues.
  • Managing aspects of the team's operations and performance, including resourcing and coaching and developing junior team members.

  • Qualifications and Skills :

  • ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent qualified. Note : where CT experience is achieved in absence of qualifications, please do consider applying.
  • UK corporation tax and international tax experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of drive and enthusiasm and a positive attitude that translates across the team.
  • Brings insight and effectively applies knowledge to business and client problems.
  • Sound judgement, including the ability to identify and evaluate risk issues and know when to involve others
  • Well-developed analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a range of clients, projects and relationships
  • Strong motivation to develop and coach junior team members
  • Dedication to continuously develop technical knowledge
  • Inquisitive with attention to detail
