To undertake work on existing highway electrical equipment and new installations across the Transport for Buckinghamshire Contract.

To assist with maintenance and fault finding works on road lighting, illuminated road furniture and all ancillary equipment as appropriate using relevant plant and resources.
To assist with installation, replacement, renewal, re-wiring and removal works on road lighting, illuminated road furniture and all ancillary equipment as appropriate including excavation and reinstatement work.
To drive and operate mobile crane vehicles over 7.5 tonne and other fleet vehicles up to 7.5 tonne.
To operate a vehicle mounted MEWP boom.
To assist with emergency attendance and making safe works on damaged / dangerous road lighting, illuminated road furniture and all ancillary equipment as appropriate.
To assist with audits to ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are met.
To help carry out all required checks of plant, equipment and vehicles including completion of associated reports.
Assist team to meet annual performance targets.
To assist with accurately passing on instructions to the workforce, keeping a record of progress and any amendments to the work.
To help ensure all required daily and weekly record sheets are accurately completed, including measurement of works undertaken, and submitted promptly.
To be available for out of office hours emergency activities in accordance with roster and within required timescales.
To assist with stock checking and tidying / organising of materials in depot stores.
To assist with winter maintenance activities as instructed.
To carry out night time inspections if requested.
To undertake further training as identified within the training matrix.
To help provide training to junior operatives.
To actively foster a positive employee morale.
To willingly carry out any reasonable task as requested and report back as required.

NVQ / SVQ qualification at Level 2 in Highway Electrical Systems (or approved equivalent)
CSCS / ECS card
IPAF 1b card (vehicle mounted boom)
Full UK driving licence and able to drive vehicles up to 7.5T (Category C1) and / or vehicles up to 18T (LGV Category C).
CPCS A36 Lorry Loader card complete with hook endorsement.
Fault diagnosis / repair, the installation and removal of road lighting, illuminated road furniture and ancillary equipment including excavation and reinstatement work.
Cable avoidance and safe digging.
Sector Scheme 12d traffic management.
Abrasive wheel operation.
