    Quality Assurance Manager ISR

    Purpose of the role

    Responsible for performing all aspects of Quality Assurance within the ISR Quality Team. To ensure that the Business’ products and services are fit for purpose and meet customer expectations.

    To understand the customers requirements to enable Quality to represent the voice of the customer during internal discussions to maximise customer focus.

    Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Be an integral member of the Programme Team and contribute to the success and completion of allocated programmes.
  • Assist / Plan and Implement Quality Assurance on assigned programmes in accordance with Company Reference system, Contract and Regulatory Requirements.
  • Systematically perform QA audit and surveillance activities throughout the lifecycle of assigned Programmes.
  • Be the point of contact & offer professional advice for programme on QA matters, to the customer, sub-contractor and supplier.
  • Provide advice and assistance on quality matters to programme staff, engineering and operations through proactive participation, during all phases of the programme.
  • Auditing Skills - Qualified as an auditor and have the ability to be able to audit internally and externally to the company.
  • Quality Standards and methods knowledge knowledge of standards and methods applicable to the role such as ISO, AS, AQAP, and military standards.
  • The ability to apply this knowledge to programmes and daily tasks.

  • Interpersonal Skills the ability to communicate effectively and act within a team environment.
  • Analytical skills the ability to analyse data and trends effectively and advise effective rectification action
  • Operational experience experienced in programmes, engineering, manufacturing and supply chain management.
  • To support all staff in the implementation of common working practices and systems.
  • To operate in a constructive and co-operative manner with the key relationships noted above and to maintain the Thales Five Key Values.
  • To maintain an ethical approach to business in line with the Thales Ethics Policy
  • Experience and qualifications

  • At least 5 years in a related Quality and or Project / Operations environment with a reputation in change management.
  • Proven capability in auditing and process development
  • Knowledge of Industrial Quality and Engineering Standards and Processes and be familiar with MoD contractual requirements for Quality Assurance
  • Excellent Communicator with strong stake holder skills and Logical thinking
  • Ability to plan and organise workload to achieve deadlines
  • Proactive approach to decision and problem solving
  • Qualifications :

    Any of the following are beneficial

    ONC / HNC / Degree in Engineering, Quality or Project Management based subject. Or previous experience in Defence Electronics or similar complex industry. CQI membership.
