The Theatre unit at Royal Gwent Hospital has an excellent opportunities to work within our fast paced theatre teams across all our Health Board sites.
The Theatre Directorate is responsible for running Operating Theatres based on 5 sites, The Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport would be the base, but you may also have the opportunity to work at The Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran, St.
Woolos Hospitals also in the city centre of Newport; Nevill Hall Hospital is in the rural town of Abergavenny and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr is in Ystrad Mynach, Caerphilly, depending on the service requirements.
The Royal Gwent Hospital site performs a variety of surgical procedures in a wide variety of specialities such as :
Skills can also be employed in other areas such as Critical Care, X-Ray, our busy A&E and the transferring of critically ill patients.
We operate a day service, Monday to Friday and are looking for skilled people that have a commitment to team working.
Our ODP / AN's are encouraged to participate in training and development and are part of exciting courses such as ILS, Simulations and CICO, to name just a few, which are encouraged as part of your Induction.
Dual Practitioner role is also actively encouraged if the successful candidate has or can develop the appropriate skills.
You will be supported and encouraged with your continued professional development by the Theatre Practice Education Team as our Health Board is facing a bright and exciting future with the recent opening of a brand-new Critical Care site, so come and be part of the team at ABUHB theatres.
