We are currently recruiting for a Charge Nurse, RN or LPN to provide management direction and leadership to all of our caregivers and nursing staff.

This position provides oversight and supervision of day-to-day resident care services for our skilled nursing residents.

This position requires independent judgment, timely management of deadlines as well as discretion in carrying out responsibilities.

  • Assesses, reports, and documents symptoms and conditions of residents. Must be able to recognize significant changes in the conditions of residents and take appropriate action
  • Completes assessments as required based on level of care
  • Responsible for the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician. Orders medications on a routine and as needed basis
  • Maintains accurate documentation regarding resident’s conditions, medications, treatments, and other mandated records
  • Accurately completes admission process to include assessments, interim care plans, service plans, obtain physician orders, and timely documentation as per admission process
  • Responsible for oversight of resident care provided on the nursing units
  • Ability to make sure that the needs of the resident are met in a courteous, timely manner
  • Initiates immediate intervention in abusive situations to protect the resident and report allegations according to facility policy
  • Receives and provides change of shift report regarding resident status and changes in condition
  • Assures nursing practice is in compliance with Nurse Practice Act, facility policies / procedures and state, and federal regulations
  • Coordinates and provides primary care including all ADL’s, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, restorative nursing, and vital signs.
  • Assures that proper resident care is provided by all nursing staff

  • Receive and implement physician’s orders
  • Responsible for notification of physician regarding changes in resident conditions
  • Counts narcotics and maintains accurate records according to policy, if necessary
  • Notifies families when there are changes in condition, falls or incidents, and emergencies
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstance warrant such action, recognize and deal with problems on daily basis or to report them to immediate supervisor
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, doctors, hospitals, residents, family members and general public
  • Must posses’ supervisory ability and willingness to work with professional and non-professional staff and delegate tasks as appropriate
  • Must have knowledge of and follow Infection Control Practices
  • Position Requirements

    Must have knowledge of normal process of aging and changes that occur

    Must educate teach residents, family members, and non-professional staff with direct care regarding illness or disease process, treatments, medications, diet, activity, etc.

    Must act as resident advocate and make resident wishes known to his / her physician and support these wishes

    Include resident and significant others in care

    Deal with ethical issues when they arrive and seek appropriate consultation

    Maintains a safe and pleasant working environment, follows safety policy and procedures

    Demonstrates a commitment toward achieving results

  • Complete tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Reliable, conscientious of attendance and timeliness
  • Respond willingly to changes in procedure, process, responsibility, and assignments
  • Completes employee incident / accident reports immediately
  • Identifies areas of staff training required to provide quality care and notifies supervisor of assessed needs
  • Evaluates functions of unit to ensure resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service. Reports concerns to the supervisor
  • Must have a current RN or LPN License in the state which you are applying.
