A new post has been created within the Customer Services Team whose role will be to support the development of Libraries and Customer Services within the Council.
A key objective will be to develop both the public library and school library provision within East Lothian working in conjunction with internal and external partners.
We are looking for an individual who has experience in working with and developing staff, whose outlook is to provide our customers with the best possible service, and who is able to develop services using data, information and customer feedback to support development initiatives.
Home working will be considered although there will be a requirement to attend a workplace at least initially and when necessary.

To manage the Library and Customer Services Team in determining Library Strategy and Policy and gain and maintain performance and standards accreditation.
To develop the Library and Customer Services provision within East Lothian Council and work in co-operation and collaboration with other colleagues and partners to ensure a locally-based Library and customer service, the provision of a School Library service and an effective eLibrary service.
To support good partnership working between public and school library services and the development of new joint services going forward.
Degree Level Qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline and / or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through previous experience.
The preferred candidate for this position will be subject to a Basic Disclosure provided by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
