GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

Janssen R&D is recruiting for a Manager, RIM Data Governance

This position is responsible for expanding the influence of Data Governance within Global Regulatory Affairs. By applying appropriate data standards, this position will allow us to improve data quality within the Regulatory Information Management group and eventually throughout GRA.

This position will play a key role on the Data Governance Board and will lead key workstreams in the Identification of Medicinal Products (IDMP) project.

This position will need to work in partnership with GRA teams at the global, regional, and local levels - and with other key business partners - to identify and recommend improvements to business processes that impact regulatory data and technology.

Will need to collaborate with teams working on data science initiatives. This role will need to align business processes with technology implementations.

ADDITIONAL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

1.Responsible for maintenance and improvement of the Collibra communities within the RIM organization. These data management activities must be executed on time, within budget, and with high quality, consistent with departmental and company quality and compliance standards for assigned programs / regions.

A. Update communities, data assets, business rules, reports as changes within the business occur.

B. Expand the reach and influence of the Collibra Data Lineage model through development and distribution of reports, evangelization, using data lineage as a management tool, etc.

C. Build out new communities as systems are implemented (including LIFT, RIMdocs, RIACCS)

D. ACCURATELY DOCUMENT INTERFACES AND DATA EXCHANGE BETWEEN SYSTEMS

E. Be an active and visionary voice in the Collibra Way of Working community.

2. Serves as facilitator for the InSight Data Governance Board

A. Be the authority on the contents of the InSight Data Administration values

B. Manages the InSight DGB Intake process and request list

C. Coordinate review and approval with other governing bodies including the RIMdocs Data Governance Board, the RIM Data Governance Board and the JJDGC as necessary.

3. DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS IN RIM DATA QUALITY

A. Report on adherence to business and quality rules

B. Improve documentation of data assets and their associated business and quality rules

C. Explore opportunities to measure data quality in underserved areas

D. Speak as the voice of data quality and adherence to rules in conversations across RIM and LSM

4. Support the Identification of Medicinal Product (IDMP) implementation team, specifically responsible for the formation of an IDMP Data Governance Board

A. Assist in the data mapping, data collection and data troubleshooting efforts

B. Build out the IDMP Data Collection and Submission Tool Community in Collibra

C. Document in Collibra any learnings regarding data asset definitions

D. Along with key members of the IDMP Project Team, devise a process to align / map the J&J Data Administration values to the EMA referential values

E. Participate in a cross functional body to manage decisions regarding the mapping

F. Organize and own a cross functional body to manage the alignment post IDMP go live

5. DRIVE DATA STANDARDIZATION IN RIM

A. Work to align Product, Substance and associated metadata across RIM owned platforms

B. Drive towards a centralized RIM Substance Data Standard that would feed the RIM systems.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • A Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology field (data management, data modeling, data science) or a Life Science (biology, genetics, chemistry) is required.
  • A Master's or advanced degree is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in one of the (data management, data modeling, data science) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years industry experience is required
  • 5 years of related experience in either data management or data modeling or data science is required
  • Strong data analysis and data management skills are required.
  • The ability to translate data into information is required.
  • Demonstrated track record of success managing multiple projects simultaneously is required
  • Demonstrable experience in data governance is required
  • Pharmaceutical development process is preferred
  • Background in regulatory affairs operational business processes, or prior experience in the is preferred.
  • Prior experience with Collibra strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with Oracle or other data management / database tools strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with Informatica or other master data management tools is preferred
  • A strong understanding of master data management concepts and applications is preferred
  • An understanding of machine translation, natural language processing, AI or RPA is preferred.
  • Competence with business analysis and process improvement is preferred
  • A background in working in an environment that adheres to regulatory compliance principles is preferred
  • Six Sigma or Lean Certification is preferred
