  • Excellent academic qualifications (University degree, preferably in a field related to business or communications)

  • Based in London, you will report directly to our Head of Proposals and work closely with the rest of the Proposal team, partners and consultants, Client Development Hubs, and leadership.

    You will help develop and encourage best practices, innovate our approach, provide consultant training and track competitive activity.

    You’ll coach, support and advise McKinsey consultants working on competitive proposals in UK and Ireland. In this role you’ll help teams develop new, distinctive and innovative approaches to high-priority proposals so that we clearly articulate how McKinsey creates impact for clients.

    You'll often work as part of a team which includes consultants and experts in design and media, competitive intelligence, and other disciplines.

    In general, consultants and Client Development Hubs will be responsible for technical / domain expertise and most process management, while you ll be responsible for ensuring our proposal strategies, tactics, materials and meetings are clear, compelling and persuade clients to work with McKinsey.

    As a creative thought leader, you’ll raise the game on our proposals. You’ll do this by offering high touch support on individual proposals to help teams develop creative and effective proposal and client engagement strategies, tactics, communication and experiences.

    You’ll help them analyse competitors and develop clear, strong value propositions to show how we are truly different. You’ll be involved in the entire proposal process from start to end.

    Your presence through kick-off, relationship mapping, proposal submission, rehearsal and debrief will give you a unique strategic role and valuable oversight that enables teams to develop differentiating strategies and stories.

    Using your persuasive writing and editing skills, you’ll support partners and consultants by coaching them to analyse decision makers and competitors.

    You’ll help teams translate these insights into a compelling value proposition and proposal. You’ll review and edit proposal documents and materials so that they’re creative, compelling and crystal clear.

    You’ll make our proposals visionary and impactful by advising on the best media, structure, style, messaging and content.

    You’ll work nimbly with our teams, helping structure, write and revise sections of the proposal. You’ll coach, advise and help teams sharpen competitive proposal strategies, tactics, experiences and plans.

    You’ll brainstorm with them how to build relationships with decision makers during the process. You’ll enrich client teams with confidence and polish to deliver winning proposal presentations by giving them constructive feedback, brainstorming ideas and rehearsing presentations with them.

    You’ll debrief proposal outcomes with clients, providing insight on what we did well and where we could do better.You’ll offer insights and help us connect the dots on how we can win more competitive proposals.

    You’ll give guidance, best practice and input across the client development process. And you’ll help create, develop and innovate best practices across the firm, becoming a part of an innovation centre that transforms opportunities into client impact.
