Vacancy - Business Development Manager


Due to continued expansion, we are recruiting a highly motivated Business Development Manager based in Edinburgh.

Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) is the UK’s largest mortgage network, with access to over 12,000 products from 90 UK lenders.

As part of MAB's network partner in Scotland, you would be working with one of the largest mortgage broking businesses in Scotland.

Mortgage Advice Bureau provides expert mortgage and protection advice to a range of clients, from first time buyers applying through help to buy, to families looking to expand their home, to landlords adding to their portfolio.

Our advisers offer advice face-to-face, over the phone and, our innovative video call facilities.

We also specialise in new-build lending, enjoying lasting relationships with builders, who in turn, place their faith in Mortgage Advice Bureau to secure their clients' mortgages, meeting the demands of builder timescales.


The role involves maintaining existing new build introducer accounts whilst achieving new lead generation opportunities.

It is essential that you have the ability to work with targets and build excellent relations with internal teams as well as external introducers.

We provide an introduction to all existing relationships and support from management on nurturing those introducers.

  • Nurture existing builder relationships
  • Drive inbound lead volumes through the delivery of great service
  • Manage hospitality budget and organise suitable events
  • Responsible for reporting and MI of inbound leads
  • Taking a proactive approach to generating new opportunities & introductions with external builders
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders within our new-build and communication departments
  • Managing our internal department support team

  • Previous new build homes or new build mortgage lending experience is preferable but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Management experience would be an advantage
  • Good written, oral communication, and numeracy skills
  • Drive, ambition and self-motivation.
  • Outstanding organisational skills, good timekeeping, and ability to control own diary
  • Be determined and committed to going the extra mile
  • Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Ability to work in a regulated environment
  • Experience of Microsoft suite of products (e.g Word, Excel etc) and CRM systems
