The Ground Investigations Lead is a member of the Ground Engineering Team Leadership and is responsible for leading the Ground Engineering Ground Investigation team and work together with the GI Implementation Leader (part of the Construction Workstream Organisation) for the successful delivery of the GI investigations.
Role Responsibilities : The Ground Investigation Leader is responsible for Technical Leadership of the Ground Investigation (excluding its delivery).
In particular : -identification, development and coordination of the ground investigation scope to address the requirements of the geotechnical and other LTC’s teams (e.
g. tunnelling / portals, highways, environmental, groundwater, contamination, sustainability, TPIs, archaeology, landscaping, architectural, etc).
ogeophysics (ie. seismic, geoelectric, GPR, cross-hole and in-hole geophysics, over water mapping and profiling, etc);olaboratory testing (ie.
oAttendance of meeting with the GI contractor(s) to provide technical support to the Construction Team;oSupport in the selection of suitable ground investigation supervision resources.
Assurance and Quality -Promoting innovation, best practice and lessons learned from other major UK / international projects.
Communication and Reporting -Represent CASCADE in all interfaces with internal or external stakeholders, landowners, Statutory and non-
Statutory bodies, etc.-Regular liaison with the design team to determine aims of the ground investigation and plan forthcoming activities.
