A post exists to ensure that Database management, Web developments and Executive Reporting (Ardentia) are deployed such that the Trust, by working with all the clinicians employed by NELFT, provides an effective and efficient information service.

3 essential criteria for the post

  • Significant technical DBA, Web and OLAP experience gained within a busy IT operations department utilising SQL Server 2000 / 5 / 8 / 12 development skills along with data flow redesign and implementation
  • Extensive database Web and OLAP management skills aligned with the experience of troubleshooting technical and performance problems with SQL Server architectures
  • Previous experience in a development and support role developing solutions using SQL, web-based development and OLAP technologies including VB.
  • Net, ASP.Net, classic ASP, Mobile Applications and Ardentia (Cassius) technologies.

    The main responsibilities of the post :

  • Work within a team that is responsible for the on-going support and development of the Trusts. Electronic Patient Administration Databases, Electronic Patient supplementary Web sites, Electronic Patient Data Warehouse and Executive Reporting Data Warehouse and to provide technical support and advice to project groups and document Trust standards on the latest database and development technologies
  • To deliver complete solutions to in-house development requests focusing on web based and OLAP applications built in ASP.
  • NET,Framework 4.5 onward,MVC,Razor,JQuery, Mobile Applications, PHP and Ardentia (Cassius) with SQL Server back-ends, whilst maintaining underlying Trust architectures (SharePoint Portal Server), creating custom templates and web parts and supporting the implementation of new technologies

  • Work as part of a team which is responsible for the production and development of user and support documentation and delivery of technical briefings to all levels of Trust management including the development of business cases where third party application procurements may be required.
  • Consequently advanced communication and documentation skills and a highly developed command of the English language are required.

    Probationary Period

    This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

    Assessment / Interview info

    At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2.

    Starting with NELFT

    NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.

    As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.

    The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

    High Cost Area Supplement London

    This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,784 to a maximum of £4,822).
