The Senior Network Routing Engineer will, under minimal supervision, be responsible for engineering changes, with a specific focus on Network routing, designing, supporting, managing and maintaining all aspects of the global network infrastructure.

In addition, this position is responsible for 2nd / 3rd line support to resolve incident tickets relating to network connectivity and performance issues.

The Senior Network Routing Engineer function will be part of a global team, responsible for managing and maintaining network functionality with a focus on availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and work with Vendors to build, install and configure new network capabilities to meet the needs of the business
  • Design, implement, develop and maintain the LAN, WLAN, WAN and Data Center network equipment.
  • A consultative approach to all major activities and projects. Including the ability to effectively and accurately document requirements and develop clear execution plans.
  • Resolve incidents and problems associated with the Network (MPLS / WAN and LAN)
  • Provide Firewall administration support, making appropriate policy changes as required by the business
  • Provide administrative support for LAN switch environment, configuring ports / access / vlans etc as required
  • The ability to plan and script complex changes within the Network infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance, availability and integrity.
  • Proactively suggest improvements to Network performance, capacity and scalability.
  • Working knowledge of IT Service Management framework and / or ITIL concepts and practices
  • Understanding of operational challenges and dependencies as they relate to infrastructure decisions
  • Demonstrate teamwork through sharing of ideas and solutions, including best practice and creative solutions to report production and analysis
  • Provide technical leadership to more junior team members
  • Key Qualifications

  • Cisco CCNA needed / CCNP certification preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP / IP fundamentals, IP subnetting, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and network management
  • Experience with MPLS, point-to-point, VPN, and other WAN connectivity options
  • Detailed understanding of switching, VLANs, VRF and related technologies
  • Extensive experience with Cisco switches and routers, including Wireless and VOIP technologies
  • Detailed understanding of network security, including Firewalls, VPNs, Proxies, DDI
  • Experience with Cisco Firepower, ASA and Checkpoint firewalls
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki
  • Understanding of Cloud based networking principles
  • Must be detail-oriented with good organization skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, show enterprise to challenge the status quo and work independently when required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Energy, initiative, and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to travel when required
  • This position will be part of the team directly responsible for all production systems globally, therefore by definition there will be a requirement for 24 x 7 on-

    call support and a willingness to travel globally, work off-hours and weekends as required.
