As part of our plan to grow and strengthen our Finance team, Howdens Joinery are looking for a Finance Analyst (Group Stock) who has the financial experience and ability to succeed in a changing and fast-moving manufacturing environment.

This role is based in our Howden office in East Riding of Yorkshire.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will support the development of a pro-active approach with Categories and Supply Planning and improve stock management across the business (Primary and Depots).

As a Finance Analyst, you will be expected to deliver a significant improvement to our Stock Turnover, drive a significant reduction in the cost of stock write off and accurately calculate and report the balance sheet stock provision for the Group.

As a Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for budgeting, analysing, reporting and challenging the key assumptions behind the stock held in the Group and will work with your stakeholders across the entire Supply Chain, including Categories, Manufacturing and Supply Planning.

You will play a key role in enabling us to drive improvements to stock turnover and supply chain efficiency which will lead to an increase in our profit.

A great communicator, you must be able to build close working relationships with the planning, buying and forecasting teams.

In addition, as a Finance Analyst you will be responsible for providing accurate reporting to the Supply Chain and Business Planning leadership team and will need to be able to present the numbers as well as answer questions on the results.

Following government guidelines this role will be home based for the immediate future, however this will be reviewed as and when restrictions are updated.

Key skills and experience required :

  • Fully qualified Accountant with a strong background in a similar role
  • Strong relationship development and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Highly organised and able to plan your own workload
  • Strong analytical and data manipulation skills
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills
  • Strong IT skills, specifically on Excel
  • Experience in a commercial environment highly desirable
