Key Responsibilities

Prepare and obtain necessary internal approval for issuance / re-issuance of guarantees including Tender Bonds, Advance Payment Guarantees, Performance Bonds, Retention Monies Guarantees, Customs Guarantees etc.

including the booking of our share of syndicated loans and guarantees).

Typically ca. 25 guarantees per month prepared using Microsoft Word or SWIFT interface system. Capture of liability entries and fees via TI Plus system.

Follow-up work on guarantees including amendments, extensions, cancellations / releases, queries and claims.

Typically 70 amendments and 25 cancellations per month.

Processing of extend or pay requests and claims.

Claiming and handling receipt of all related commissions.

Claims sent and funds received on a daily basis. Typically around 200 amounts to collect per month from about 50 clients / banks.

Regular follow-up of unpaid invoices.

Together with Head and Deputy Head of Department, liaising with, guiding and providing information (technical and other) to clients and other areas of the bank in relation to all aspects of Guarantees work.

Maintaining Excel spreadsheets and monitoring / agreeing accounts at month end.

Vetting / drafting guarantee texts for CA-CIB clients. Ensuring the compliance of client requests with authorisations held and with Compliance / Financial Security policies.

Payment of Issuing Bank fees

Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time;
  • Financial Security requirements, including, but not limited to, the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud including reporting obligations to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.

    Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.

    Minimal education level

    High school / Secondary school / A levels / AS levels / IB

    Academic qualification / Speciality

    To A' Level standard with minimum good grade pass in English.

    DESIRABLE :

    Good grade A' Level pass in French, Mathematics and Geography. Fluency in written and spoken French.

    Required skills

    Experience of all aspects of guarantees work within a similar organisation.

    DESIRABLE :

    Experience / knowledge of other Trade Finance operations, (L / C's, Collections, etc.)

    Technical skills required

    Basic training in computer word processing, databases and spreadsheets.

    Eye for detail; thorough, methodical approach.

    DESIRABLE :

    Basic training in computer word processing, databases and spreadsheets.

    Languages

    Fluency inDESIRABLE : French and / or another European language, particularly Spanish.
