Lucion Marine currently has a very exciting opportunity to join the team as a Marine HazMat Technician. This is a brand new role that will allow you to train to become a fully fledged Marine HazMat Surveyor. Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

This role will include coordination, mobilisation and delivery of all stages to facilitate the preparation of Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) reports and the subsequent delivery to clients. To include any additional consultancy and ongoing hazardous materials management as required.

ACCOUNTABLE FOR

You will undergo a comprehensive training programme, following which you will be competent to carry out all disciplines Marine HazMat Surveying.

This is a full time, permanent position and will involve both national and international travel as well as overnight stays away from home.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:-

Training on all aspects of Marine HazMat Surveying, including:

  • Review of vessel information and preparation of Visual Sampling Check Plan (VSCP).
  • Carry out on board inspection and sampling exercise, within given time scales
  • Management of sample analysis process and final reporting (via NexGen) ready for final QC.
  • Providing a professional and courteous service to clients, answering any queries that they might have .
  • Communication with clients, management, the Technical Support team and fellow team members

  • Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL PERSON CRITERIA:-

  • Clear Enhanced DBS check – this is absolutely essential to ensure we can organise work permits and visas. Unfortunately we cannot consider candidates with a criminal record
  • Flexible approach to travelling nationally and internationally
  • Flexibility with working unsociable hours including weekends
  • Strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively and intuitively either alone or in a small team
  • Attention to detail for accurate data, and be familiar with mobile app technology
  • Have a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn

    This is a Full Time, Permanent position (40 hours per week)
