Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geoscience Team Leader to join Fugro in the Marine Site Characterisation (MSC) Client Deliverables (CD) department in the Aberdeen office.

The position is office-based with possible work offshore or at other Fugro offices worldwide. However, for suitable individuals, the requirement to work away from the office is not essential.

The department is involved in the acquisition, quality control, interpretation and analysis of marine geophysical data, geohazard assessment and the integration of geophysical, environmental and geotechnical data.

In the role, you will be responsible for the management of geoscience reporting projects, the supervision of project teams, and the interpretation and reporting of geophysical survey data in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions.

Good understanding of data integration (e.g. geophysical, geotechnical and environmental datasets). Ability to demonstrate proactive communication with clients.

Who you’ll be working with : Within this role you will be the focal point and project liaison for Fugro colleagues, clients and subcontractors as required.

You will work closely with your colleagues in the Geophysical and Commercial departments and work with other Fugro entities as well as coach both senior and junior geophysicist staff in the department.

Here’s what a typical day would be like : Project manage multiple reporting projects and supervise teams of processing, interpretation and report ensuring reports are prepared in accordance with Fugro standards and styles.

Monitor project financial performance and prepare invoices for reporting projects. Lead project liaison with Fugro colleagues, clients and subcontractors as required.

Maintain project documentation in accordance with Quality Assurance management system. Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and others, prepare technical papers.

Assist with the review and preparation of work proposals and with technical and organisational development activities. Ensure data security and integrity after acquisition and during reporting, and ensure appropriate archiving and despatch.

Who we’re looking for : Essential Qualified to degree level in relevant discipline (Geophysics, Geology or related discipline).

Wide experience of interpretation and reporting of geophysical survey datasets. Ability to lead interpretation projects and prepare reports to a high standard.

Ability to check interpretation and reports and ensure they meet internal Quality Assurance standards and contractual requirements.

Experience in the supervision of technical staff and have the ability to lead a team and adhere to project deadlines. Good understanding of data integration (e.

g. geophysical, geotechnical and environmental datasets). Competent in all Microsoft Office applications, including proficient excel skills and communication tools.

Ability to prioritise, multi-task and deliver high quality work to strict deadlines. An excellent communicator (verbally and written) and able to form good working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Good attention to detail, quality and safety Aberdeen based or willing to relocate to Aberdeen. Desirable An understanding of the geophysical equipment and methods used to investigate the marine environments.

Sufficient interest in the subject to prepare articles for publication and presentations to clients and industry meetings.

Willing and able to travel in order to attend client meetings, project start-up meeting, etc. May be required to work offshore on major survey projects, to lead an offline team responsible for data processing, interpretation and reporting.
